CANDIDO JACUZZI
Kenny boy was born with rheumatoid arthritis, and his joints ached so much that his father felt compelled to do something. Luckily, Kenny’s dad was Italian and had a typical Italian genius idea: inventing a pump that created a whirlpool in a bathtub, an hydrotherapeutic massage thought for pain relief.
Kenny’s dad’s name was Candido. Candido Jacuzzi. And his revolutionary invention changed the life of his son, and many other people to come. Candido wasn’t a lone star: he had come to the States along with his parents and his six older brothers from Casarsa della Delizia, province of Pordenone in Friuli. They moved in the early 1900s and worked as aircrafts mechanics during WWI. The Jacuzzis business throve especially from the 1960s, with manufacturing operations established all around the world. Italy included, of course.
